Cabot School

Respect, Responsibility, Perseverance

Welcome

Cabot is a small, rural school in central Vermont. We pride ourselves on our small and supportive environment that allows students to work alongside each other and adults as learners. We aspire to and design high quality projects that are relevant to students’ lives and encourage them to take an active role in guiding their education. We live our values of  respect, responsibility, kindness, safety, and engagement through a project-based approach to learning that places strong emphasis on authenticity, culture & relationships, and curiosity, creativity, & design.

We strive to ensure all students are engaged and active learners within a culture of inclusion that values all students as contributing members of our school community. We approach students through a lens of inquiry, honoring their voices, their questions, their curiosity, and their creativity. We see school as an extension of our broader local and world communities where students have the opportunity to grapple with questions that are important both locally and globally creating active and engaged citizens.

Mission Statement

We design high-quality, authentic projects that connect to students’ lives and empower them to take an active role in their learning. Grounded in respect, responsibility, and perseverance, our project-based approach fosters curiosity, creativity, strong relationships, and meaningful engagement.

We cultivate an inclusive community where every student is valued as a contributing member. Through inquiry and student voice, we connect learning to local and global issues, preparing students to become thoughtful, engaged citizens.
